GOD’S WAY OF SALVATION
It was a glorious day for the thousands of slaves in the
united States of America when in 1863 their emancipation
was proclaimed after years of inhumane and servile existence.
This was a day of celebration–the year of jubilee. No longer
would they have to endure suffering and ridicule, but they
could now hold their heads up high and move north where
their lots could be bettered. They could now attain to the
American dream that had been repelled from them by their
skin color. The chains that had held them in captivity for
hundreds of years had officially been declared broken, and
they could now realize their dreams.
Almost 1,830 years before Abraham Lincoln proclaimed liberty
to all living in America, Jesus the Son of God and humanity
emerged from a stony grace to proclaim that the whole world
had been emancipated from the sin that had kept us in captivity
ever since our parents were deceived in Eden. The mighty
act of liberation was the beginning of the age of jubilee
for all humanity. It gave us a reason to celebrate! But
just like the Negro slaves of America who discovered too
quickly that the emancipation proclamation did not immediately
alter their enslaved circumstances, so the inhabitants of
the earth have discovered that the entire salvation process
takes more than an instant. In this study, we will try to
discover GOD’S WAY OF SALVATION.
